Is there a limit to how many times the goggles can be autoclaved?
For the frame the limit is 40 cycles at 121°C for 30 minutes at 2 atm, if you increase the temperature, the time or the pressure, the sterilization cycles will decrease; this google has an anti-fog coated lens so the lenses the limit is 10 cycles; a specific cleaning process that uses chemical disinfectants or everything else can reduce the performance of the product so the number of cycles. More information can be found in the product specification sheet attached.
How do we know when the goggles need to be replaced/disposed?
You will see a degradation of the frame and the lenses but is something that the customer should understand with a internal procedure to validate the product within your specification and performance limit; When you see the frames start to be deformed or lens when you see a lot of scratches or becoming yellowish then it will be time to changed.
Is it suitable to clean the goggles with 70% sterile IPA?
There are no test so we can’t guarantee the chemical compatibility. Theoretically, IPA is compatible with the PC (polycarbonate) but we have other materials are used for the frame, elastic band and anti-fog coating.
